In Boulouki Theatre’s second presentation, Medeamaterial, the character of Medea – the colonized, the conquered, the barbarian – abandons the margin to tell her story. Caught in a timeless and spaceless space, she “relives” the past and with the help of her Nurse, she gives an account of the tragic events that led to her unspeakable act.
She proposes that a new history can only begin when the old has been destroyed. Medea stops the creation of new humans, especially those who come from the corrupt blood of the colonizer Jason. The monstrosity of her act is an attempt to shake the world and force it to find new means for communication beyond the limiting language and structures that has depended upon.

Pour cette seconde production de Medeamaterial par Boulouki Théâtre, le personnage de Médée – la colonisée, la conquise, la barbare – sort de l'ombre pour raconter son histoire. Prise dans cet espace intemporel et indéfini, elle revit le passé, et avec l'aide de sa nourrice elle nous relate les événements tragiques qui l'ont menés a commettre l'innommable.
Elle suggère que l'histoire ne pourra se réécrire qu'une fois l'ancienne détruite. Médée doit arrêter la création de nouvelles générations, particulièrement celles provenant du sang corrompu du colonisateur, Jason. La monstruosité de son acte tente de nous brasser la cage et nous pousse à trouver, au-delà de notre langage limité et nos structures sociales pondéreuses, de nouveau moyen de communiquer.
